Week 38

by on March 4, 2011

The countdown has now reduced to days rather than weeks and as expected the ‘any news’ texts have started!  I must admit that the patience is wearing thin now but I’m still determined to make the most of this time just having 1 child and a bit of freedom through his independance and a help from nursery in the mornings.

My midwife did a swab at this weeks check-up for Group B Strep which I tested positive for in my last pregnancy, thankfully it was negative though this time so no rush to go straight to hospital at the onset of labour for IV Antibiotics.  There has been alot more awareness recently regarding the infection, which is the UK’s most common cause of life-threatening infection in newborn babies, but it is still a relatively unknown.
